Gluten-Free Protein Powders

I’ve been searching high and low for the best gluten-free protein powders. I also found some that are free of dairy, soy and egg and other allergies as well for those who are interested.

Often times an allergy or intolerance to wheat goes hand-in-hand with dairy. It’s tough to find a really good all natural, pure protein with no fillers or additives, and is raw, kosher, gluten-free, vegan, and 100% organic that offers a great source of fiber as well.

The following are great options for you to choose from:

Whey

Benefits of Whey Protein:

  • 100% Gluten-Free
  • Helps boost immunity
  • Excellent source of amino acids
  • Enhances muscle recovery after workouts
  • Helps prevent muscle breakdown

Whey protein is derived from milk and is the most commonly used protein supplement. It contains nonessential and essential amino acids, as well as branch chain amino acids (BCAA). Whey is also easily absorbed by your muscles.

*Do not consume if you have a milk allergy or cannot tolerate lactose unless it is labeled as lactose free.

This is a great whey protein product that I have found:

1. Synergistic Nutrition One World Whey

This one is by far the best protein powder on this list, and here’s why:

  • Boosts immunity and fights aging by increasing the body’s master antioxidant levels, which greatly aid in detoxifying.
  • Increases lean muscle mass, while decreasing excess body fat.
  • Whey is derived from the milk of cows that are grass-pastured on Amish farms. Grass is never exposed to pesticides or herbicides. No hormones or steroids are ever administered to cows.
  • NEVER exposed to heat during processing. This is the world’s ONLY whey protein that is completely cold-processed from start to finish using our proprietary TRU-COOL processing method. This means you get a truly non-denatured whey that is readily absorbed and utilized by the body.
  • NO artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Just all-natural, pure whey protein.

2. Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard

“Whey protein is popular with active adults because it digests rapidly and is a rich source of amino acids to support muscle recovery.* Whey protein isolates are the purest form of whey and the primary ingredient in Gold Standard 100% Whey. Each serving provides 24 grams of rapidly digesting whey protein with low levels of fat, cholesterol, lactose and other stuff you can do without. There’s no doubt this is the standard all other proteins are measured against.”

3. NutraBio Pure Whey Protein Concentrate

“Our non-denatured whey proteins are guaranteed to be the freshest and purest protein available. We make this guarantee because our factory cuts out all middlemen and ships direct to you. Our unflavored whey protein concentrate is 81% protein with 25 grams of the highest biological value protein per 30.8 gram serving and less than 4 grams of carbs and fat. Multi-Source Protein

Benefits of Multi-Source Protein

Humans benefit from multiple sources of protein, not just a single source. Taking a protein with multi-sources creates a sustained release effect in your system. A mix of fast acting proteins that immediately start to assimilate, followed by the benefits of the longer lasting proteins that release over several hours creates a sustained feed of protein to your body. This keeps your body in an anabolic state which allows you to build muscle and burn more body fat. When you take a multi-source protein powder, it gives you a more complete spectrum of amino acids which are derived from each source of protein.

  • Kat Parker

I appreciate all the research you’ve done on protein powders. I’m mystified that in my own research so far, I can’t seem to find organic pea protein powder. I don’t care how “100% Pure, non-gmo” the advertised powders are, organic trumps all. Wouldn’t you think? Can you point me in the direction of Organic pea protein powder? Thanks.

    • Fallon

      Hi Kat,

Thank you for asking. I did some research and was able to find an all natural protein powder with organic pea protein. I recently added it to this list. It’s called Vega Sport Performance Protein. You will see it listed under Multi-Source Protein. I also read that many protein powders at health food stores, such as Sprouts, carry all organic as well. I hope this helps!

  • JANET

CAN i BUY THIS AT A RETAIL STORE

    • Fallon

      Hello Janet,

Do you have a specific protein powder in mind that you are looking to purchase? I would look it up on the brands website and see where it is sold. You may also prefer to email them directly. Many times you can go into your local health food store to see which protein powders they carry. The selection may vary so another helpful tip is to call ahead. I hope this helps!
